if you are considering the '03, then just save up and find an '04. there were significant changes made that model year.

oh, and save your oil filters from your e36/46, they will work on your x5 3.0...

I guess I'm lucky I happened to stumble across mine, I wasn't even looking for an X5, it just sounded to good to pass up, original owner with 37K miles garage kept.

Yours is exactly what I hope to find...basically a needle in a haystack. Steel Grey w Black Leather is my #1 choice

I just missed out on one w 67k miles 2 weeks ago bc of the snowstorm, I couldn't get up to Brooklyn to see it and someone bought it the next day. It was a great deal too.

I found one in Boston that I thought was perfect, its fully loaded w 65k miles but I AutoCheck'd it and it was in an accident a few years ago...and its way overpriced.

I've seen this one for sale for a while, its a great price but its pretty barebones, no leather, no climate control...not that I mind the manual system it just doesn't look right in that dash space I do like the piano black trim tho, that was offered in the 01 M3's as well.

Not a used car classified maven, but keep looking in the usual spots, though
I suspect "cream puff" versions like a few of us have are going to be hard
to find. At least for me, I'm hanging onto mine for the foreseeable future,
as it's fun, drives well, long paid for, and hasn't glitched much, yet!

I am a "kid" and dont beat my X5!, but then again there are alot of kids i know who do. I look out my window everyday at a snow and salt covered 3.0i that some kid at my school has. what a damn shame

oh and i failed to mention my friend with a black 4.8is who doesnt wash his too often either. man what is this world coming to?

I've got one I can't wait to get rid of. Silver w/gray int., 62K miles and mint. Completely stock w/19" staggered setup. Only thing I did to it was straighen up the rear wheels to -1.7 . . . and of course replace a several of its poorly designed parts. Currently battling SES light for misfires and lean mixture with symptoms of stumbling and poor acceleration. I'll even knock off $500 for the SES light.

What are the prices you are seeing? I paid 16,500 6months ago, purchased from the owner, not a stealer.
It has black leather as well. Going to need tires soon, it has the original michelins on it which are dry rotting/cracking a bit.
