FOB KEY ISSUE - Anyone else have this issue with the key?

I have an 01, X5 4.4i and this strange issue i have always had with the key fob that im not sure if its normal for my x or if its not.

Issue: Everytime I unlock the X and relock it, it wont unlock using the key remote feature, id have to manually lock it inserting the key to the door.

I had a chance to check out a 2006 X5 and it shockingly didnt have this issue, so i was wondering is it normal for 01s or is it not?

Thanks!

I'm not sure what you're saying...the vehicle is locking via the remote, it isn't unlocking via the remote, or both? Have you tried leaving the battery disconnected overnight, then reprogramming the key the following morning? You'd be surprised what "reseting" these cars will fix sometimes.

To put it in simple terms, If i lock the X with the key and unlock it right after it wont let me lock it via remote until the car has been drivin again

K, but are you unlocking it w/ the key physically in the hole, or w/ the remote. I'm still not clear. I still say you need to pull the battery cables and let it sit overnight, then see if it changes things in the morning.

Looks like we have the same problem with our locking system. What sometimes works for me is counting to 4 and then pressing the button. Weird how it works sometimes. But its not supposed to be like this because I remember it much more responsive earlier in its life.

Any idea on how to fix it?

Mine too. I thought it was just slow to respond just in case you accidentally pressed a button too many times. I just press, wait two seconds and press again. I have never had any problems when pausing for two seconds.
