I traded my X5

That's it guys, I got rid of my x5. For the last 3 years my X was the car that has given me the real pleasure of driving, and the car that gave me more sleepless nights that all cars I have owned my whole life, maybe 10-12. I've lived with the feeling that one day it'll break and I'll spend more than what the whole car was worth. CONSTANTLY I was monitoring the cluster to see if anything fails. To be honest I feel relieved though I drive an Odyssey (big family) which doesn't even come close to my ex-X5. Soft brakes, go-cart like steering, road noise......... Want to thanks to all of you that helped me keep the car running. I'm moving over the the Odyssey forum where people are talking about flowers, exterior colors, car fresheners. Boring, I know.

Traded the 2001, 3.0L with 98k miles for $9100. The passenger door was manually operated - nothing on that door worked except the speaker. For thrills I still have my wife's 2006 3 series. At least that one has only 50k miles

Take care guys!

Good luck. I too monitor the cluster for beeps and error / warning lights. Lately, I've been drooling over those new Ford F-150 trucks.

my dad drives a 2008 F250 super duty for his biz. I'm telling you, those trucks are awesome. Yes they are huge, but i mean its really nice inside, navi, seat warmers, leather. the works. if i was a truck guy i'd be all over that

I have a 06 Ford F250 super duty 4x4 and has been a great truck. I have gotten as high as 20 mph and can tow just about anything and it even has a 5 year/100,000 warranty. I have been a little disappointed in the CPO 06 BMW 4.4 X5 that I bought last year with 18,000 miles on it. The finish just seems cheap door handles peeling, steering wheel peeling, back hatch rattles, sunroof rattles, motor rattles. The X is fun to drive but not fun to own. I think this will be my first and last BMW.

When my wife started saying that three letter word "van" I freaked out but I thought if I have to get a van an odessey would be the way to go. We have four kids and need the room. My X is my daily driver and she drove a Landrover Discovery II but it was tough loading everybody in and out. Then I came across the mercedes R350 and it fit our family perfectly and it's not quite a van but it's a sweet ride. I love the pano roof.

I'd rather cut off my balls than drive a mini van.

I always feel a bit sad when people part ways the their e53.

Regarding vans:

The R class and GL class are really good alternatives to a van...then again what about an e70 with third row seating?
