New Nav Screen

I have seen posts where some of you have changed the screen on your Navigation system, but has anyone actuall installed a whole new unit ( radio/screen)? Or has anyone paid an indy shop to do it? My screen is going bad, but do not want to pay the $2400 price tag to get a new one from the dealer.

You can buy the screen head unit from BimmirNav.com 650$

Or you can order just the screen and dissasemble the whole thing and change out the LCD, which im doing soon, will post results. There is a DIY for this one home page.

I purchased a used unit with a clause guaranteeing the unit to work upon install. (450.00)

Asked the dealer if they will charge an hourly rate to install customer bought items, they agreed.

Updated to DVD drive, wide screen and installed Stealth One module, all for 250.00 labor. Which is nice, there is a sequence to install new DVD and screen. Dealer work was flawless. All three items integrated.

Thanks for the info. I looked at Bimmernav.com and found what I was looking for. Another question..... does anyone know how hard it is to take out the old unit and put in the new unit? Is it just plug and play? Thanks!

I sent mine to Sharp in New Jersey. I posted the info on a prior thread about 1-2 years ago. They did everything for less than $450. Everything is brand-new. I highly recommend this approach. Check my profile for the post on this issue.
