Get in your car and turn it on, test the steering effort. Does it feel light? Now take the car out onto the highway. Does the steering feel lighter or about the same? If your answer to 1 is yes and 2 is the same, then you have it. The other way you check is to pop the hood, grab the flash light, and look for a little cylinder with 2 wires coming out of it on top of the steering rack. That is the "servotronic torque converter". If you have it, you have servotronic. If you don't, you don't.

If the system fails your steering effort will be very high when stopped. Trust me on that.
