For those of you that have downloaded updated software.....

did you notice any difference in shifting? Good or bad?

I've got the Dinan S2 on my 2001 E53 4.4 sport - now it leaps off the line (no hesitation) and redline shift is now 6200rpm - 4.5yrs, 70k+ still running great

How did you update the software, how much did it cost and where did you get it done?

i'm actually referring to the bmw updated transmission software that supposedly addresses the rough shifting issue. this can be done at your bmw dealership. they will charge an hour or two of labor but if it fixes the issue it's worth it.

nice upgrade. dinan is pricey but worth it because it works. i just sold my S2 touring e39 and never had one issue with any dinan product.
