Airbag light comes on and off....and on...
Whilst driving back from Germany airbag light came on for about 5 sec then went out again... this repeated itself 3 times over the next 7 hrs. Rather worrying when this happens, specially when travelling at speeds in excess of 110 mph... maybe it is trying to tell me something..??  Anyone had this problem before??

Soiunds like either a sensor problem, harness problem or a connection problem. Not something that I would let go for a long period of time without having a BMW dealer diagnose what is going on.
The fact that it's intermitent could make it tough to find, though

You didn't have something sitting in the passenger seat (like a package, bag, etc.), did you? I have had the airbag light come on when I have my backpack in the passenger seat, and hit a bump or something that causes a temporary increase in sensed weight in that seat.
