New member w/ new 06 X5 3.0-questions

A few questions:

Is there a way to set up the key memory functions at home or do you have to go to the dealer?

Is there a kit that adds power into the center storage bin?
There doesn't seem to be a good place to plug in a cell phone. The way I see it, you have to have the ashtray open all the time, have it plugged into the back seat lighter or figure out a way to run the cord out of the passenger footwell powerpoint. None of these seem very attractive or functional to me.

Is the self-dimming mirror an easy retrofit? Will it control the outside mirrors or are they a seperate part number as well?

New car with kid.

Congratulations! It's a beauty and your wife too!

You have to take it to the dealer to change the key memory. You should already have BT on your car, so you just have to pair it. Getting power is another problem, probably need to run some wires. Have not seen it done though.

Have fun with your mods.

:welcome: Definitely consider the BT kit and depending on what kind of cellphone you have, you can get a snap-in adapter so your phone is hidden away in the upper center console and is powered. See Item 1 in the "Electronics & Cellphone" section of the X5world home page.

Here is what a snap-in adapter looks like:
