Oh and to answer the OP question....Best deal i've found to date is definitely @ Wal-Mart. $75 bucks, besides the case being black instead of white plastic, its identical to the OEM battery, with the handles and everything.

I recently had to replace my battery and got a Die Hard International, so far so good.

I also saw a pretty funny commercial for die hards

Werker and Interstate are the two i'd go with.

I'm seeing a lot of Exide recommendations. I haven't changed the battery on my E53 02 since the stealer replaced it a few years ago.
Any particular model from Exide?

Do you have the 3.0i or the 4.4i? The CCA is higher on the 4.4i model battery, but less RC than the 3.0i model.

Exide is now the company that supplies BMW with batteries for their whole line up of vehicles. Thats probably why you're hearing so many recommendations.

Honestly, and reputable company thats been selling batteries will be fine for your car. Die hard, Interstate, Exide, Bosch, duralast, Everstart, all decent batteries to go with and service life wont be much different from one another.
