4.8 vs b5 S4

So me and a b5 s4(bi-turbo) go off a roll at around 10mph. It was even until about 35-45mph where his turbo gave him a lil boost and my front bumper was side to side by his side mirror. It stayed that way until i had to get behind him because therre were cars infront of me.
I was right on his ass and we both took a small curvy turn and he took the inside lane. After that it was an open straight away where my naturally aspirated engine caught up side by side to his laggy turbo.
Both of us sped on the straight until another turn came up and i decided to stay in the outside lane and pass him while he was still on the inside.
Scared that my big FAT car is not about to stick the turn to AWD s4, i was wrong my car took it side by side just as fast as him.

I guess he got surpised that a big car like that just took a turn in the OUTSIDE lane just as fast he did in his sedan in the inside lane, because he rapidly slowed down and i did not see his headlights for a good while, until 2mins later i looked back and saw his xenons.

I do not condone street racing, but this was my first encounter to push my X to the limits and it did very well in my opinion for sucha big car, ESPECIALLY THE HANDLING!! I LOVE MY X5 now

I read your post with mixed feelings.

On the one hand, I am remembering doing much the same thing, in other vehicles, years ago. It still feels good.

On the other hand, I have had to tell the crying mother that her son is dead because a street race ended badly. This second set of memories outweighs the first.

Call me a wet blanket, but I hope you enjoyed it enough NOT to do it again.

I used to own a B5 S4. No slouch. Chipped and with downpipes etc., that car will push close to 400HP easily. Stock only 250hp. Sounds like this guy was stock.

ditto that.. Stock, they are slow... my old B5 S4 with K04 upgrades, downpipes, forge divertors, race cats, GIAC X-chip, and injectors was pretty fast though and ran mid 12 sec 1/4 miles..

K04's are a key upgrade. A lot of the B5 S4's, stock, were prone to failing turbos. Add a chip to the mix and say bye bye not to the X5, but to the turbos.

SANguru's set-up sounds pretty solid. How many psi was yours boosted?
