I got the factory hitch, it was more expensive, but everyone here recommended it... I was going to buy some wheels first, but I thought the oem hitch was the smarter thing to do right now...

It was $848 for everything... which isnt as bad as some people paid..

Looks sharp! The price is also very reasonable.

Did this include the hardware with installation? I was recently qouted by BMW:
-$495 for Class III Hitch
-$1,100 for labor
...sounds outrageous.

Do you have any recommendations?

Oh that picture makes me want to go boating - but we have to wait until late April or early May to even consider getting on the reservoir. The X5 is a great tow vehicle!

Ditto on what NS said, install it yourself. Long process but with patience and lots of info from this site totally doable.

Did you have to do any programming to get the lights to work? I followed all the instructions (i thought) but lights will not working. This the OEM kit. Thanks.

Yes this included everything, installation, programming my the car computer for stability or something (i have the paper) and lighting and stuff...

New Century BMW in Alhambra California, pretty great place..
