Hi perf ignition wires (?)

I've seen these in Bavarian Autosport for a while now, and never thought much of them... but in this month's Roundel (BMW CCA's monthly magazine) I saw an ad - from BMW, not a third party - for OEM high performance ignition wires for all models.

Anyone know anything about them, or have any thoughts?

bavauto has hi-perf. coils for $480 for a set of 8. They list only up to 4.6, not sure if they would work on the 4.8. Don't see why they wouldn't.

Yes, I saw them in BavAuto, but I'm more interested in the ad for the OEM variety I just saw in Roundel... If they exist, that is!!

would this improve anything.. like perfomance wise.. what would it do as an advantage?

From Bavauto.com:
The core windings inside these coils have been modified to increase firepower and promote a faster, more efficient burn. This gives your BMW increased torque in the lower range of RPM and more horsepower in the upper range. Exact improvements depend on the current condition of your BMWıs engine, but youıll definitely feel the difference. Theyıll also improve your fuel economy, and theyıre less expensive than BMW stock replacement coils. (Plus they come with new spark plug boots -- OE coils do not.) Installation is a simple, do-it-yourself procedure that takes about 30 minutes. Instructions included.
