Cool BMW center cap dilemma

I noticed that my BMW center caps on my wheels are looking kind of worn out and the borders are turning a nasty yellow shade, probably from all the salt and sand from the winter. So I thought that I would change them out for a new set. Now Tischer BMW sells what they call the 'updated' center caps which instead of the plastic border have a snazzy looking chrome border and protrude outward slightly more. See the picture I took from bimmerboard for more reference, the old style (which I currently have) is on the left and the new updated style is on the right.

Which ones do you guys prefer? Is anyone rocking the new style and if so how do you like it, don't be shy throw up some pics

I had this problem as well, i like the old style better. The new style is not as flat as the old one.

I didn't even know they had these when I bought mine. My originals are now on my snow tires so I don't have to swap them back and forth (they were starting to corrode anyway).

Just look at any E70. They all use the new style. I doubt if you'll be able to locate the old style anymore since they have been superseded with the new style.

I just got new center caps also and realized the same thing. I don't know which one I prefer but I'm probably going to put the new ones on. With all the rain were getting in Jersey I'm going to wait a bit. What do you guys think is the best way to remove old center caps without taking the wheel off? The dealership tells me they pop right out and in but I dont see it being that easy without damaging the wheel. I'm pretty clueless.

Motordavid, thats awesome they stay up-right. Do the emblems spin when your driving and balance out when you stop or do they stay still while your moving? I've never seen that before, very cool!

Forster: yes, they stay "centered" and appear to not move, within the spinning wheel, at speed. A very cool, but subtle look, when rolling down the highway. Sometimes kids gazing
out the window of their car notice it and look twice, and point and smile. They were sold for about a month, by a vendor, but BMW Mutha threatened lawsuit and he pulled the plug.

A few of us here, have them...the kit came with a dart-like sticker/plunger and the old ones popped off and the new ones went on. Not sure what you could use as a like tool.
Thanks, mD
Edit: the "tool" the vendor supplied was a 50Ct sized suction cup deal...
