I put this into my 2001 X5. It was a start, better mids and high's but it did not have the bass I wanted.

I then added the BSW sub and that was the magic touch; Sounded really great. I went with BSW because it was all well documented and BSW put this kit together specifically for the X5. I'm sure there are other ways but for an out of the box solution it worked well for me. Many Xoutpost members have used this kit and the JL sub too.

Thank you for the kind words and glad you are happy!

Kerr,

If you check our blog post, the most recent, we are VERY close to Stage 2 PnP amp. I know we have been saying this for a good bit but 'hard core' is coming soon to an X5 near you!

We just got an X5 for the wife. First was DICE/Dock and waiting a little bit and Stage 1 and subwoofer and amp will be next! Building an E30 24V right now so no money outside of oil changes and gas going into the X5... for now

I would be curious to see the PnP amp...haha is that a play off of a bjt transister...Will the Stage 1 speakers be able to handle your amp? Cost would be interesting too as I am sure you will have to addres crossovers?
