squeaking in the front.

Just noticed tonight that I'm squeaking from the front. It is the driver's side. Happens over even the slightest bumps and upon take off. When I parked it tonight, I turned the wheel to the left and it squeaked all the way over. When I turned the wheel back and fourth after that though, there was no noise. I just had the drive axle replaced about 2 months ago. Any ideas?

Looked on AutoHausAZ. The closest description I could find was:

Control Arm & Ball Joint Assembly; Front Left.

Am I looking at the right part?

There are many joints in the front suspension that can squeak. The lower control arm is one, the Forward thrust arm has a ball joint at the steering knuckle. The tie-rod ends have a joint. The swaybar end links have joints too. In my experience, these have been the cause of squeaking similar to what you've described. I've replaced the sway bar end links due to squeaking. I've also replaced the lower control arm with ball joint due to squeaking, like mrbmwx5 referred to.

One way to narrow it down is to have a friend help you out. One of you can get down near the suspension and the other can help rock the car (standing in the drivers doorway) or turn the steering wheel (be careful).

swaybar endlinks need to be looked at. thats the common culprit for speedbump squeek.

Both control arms were shot. Also got the endlinks because they were pretty cheap.
