Update to Window Regulator replacement Howto...

Hi,

I just completed replacing the window regulator on the front passenger side.

I noticed that the procedures referenced throughout this forum make mention of the airbag, and talk about removing it/disconnecting it, etc...

Well, it is not necessary to even touch the airbag to carry out this procedure. Atleast not for the front passenger window. The bolt that holds the top right side of the regulator seems like it is behind the airbag, but in fact is not behind it. The bolt is accessible via a hole that is just above the airbag. The hole is of course obstructed by the styrofoam-looking cover, but all you have to do is move the cover aside a little bit and you have access. No need to cut the styrofoam cover nor to remove the airbag.

I didn't notice if that was possible, I have just always removed it and and the cover completely to allow myself as much room to work as possible plus I didn't want to touch that tar crap anymore than necessary. I will check that out next time . . . when window regulator #6 breaks.

You dont have to touch the tar adhesive for this, just slightly fold away the styrofoam cover... Just folding it away leaves plenty of room to work.
