No Radio Code! Don't want to disconnect battery

New X5 Owner.... looked for the radio code card or code number in book, all blank. I have them for both my other BMW's, and know that if the battery is disconnected... no code you are screwed.
Any ideas? This is the plain old basic radio with business CD.
Thanks in advance.

IIRC you can buy a 9 volt gadget that plugs into the cigarerte lighter and will keep the car from loosing the codes...I had one somewhere...hmmm....

I'm not aware of any special code that is needed on mine. My battery has been out of vehicle for several hours, dead on several occasions while waiting on parts to come in and disconnected several times for window regulator failures and never any code needed. It even keeps my radio stations programmed. I can't tell what station it is looking through all the dead pixels but I recognize the DJ's voice.

The X5 doesn't have the problem with the battery code that the older BMWs have, so should have no worries other than resetting the clock and date.

Worst case scenario if for some reason you do get a code, you can pull the radio and bring it to a service advisor at the dealer and they can look up the code for you. But you won't have that problem with the E53.

Bav Auto sells a memory saver tool that plugs into the cigarette lighter and has a 9v battery on the end. It's $9.95 if memory serves me correctly.

OT, that cabrio E30 with the hard top is very nice!

sweet that's what I was hoping to hear. I guess one of the many things I need to learn as I graduate from the E30/E36 world into E53s

So why then, did my battery die, and I can't hear the radio?

Pixels are dead, but I can see enough to see that it is seeing readios stations, but still, no sound. Help me Obie-Wan, you are my only hope...
