HomeLink help

Before you ask, yes I read the manual and yes I did a search. Still something isn't working.

I just installed a craftsman belt drive opener and was setting up my remotes, wireless key pads, etc..

So I go to do the HomeLink in the X5. I click the learn button on the opener and the hold down the "1" on HomeLink in the X5. Nothing connects. So I try using the hand held transmitter and holding the homelink button. Nothing connects.

So, any suggestions? BTW, yes the opener is a HomeLink opener and I have a 2004 X5.

After you hit the learn button, did you run down the ladder and touch the homelink button in under 30 seconds??

Usually when I answer that way, it means I did something really dumb (like a dead battery in the transmitter, or something else stupid).
