There are two motors, one on each side of the steering wheel assembly.
The Drivers side motor turns a cable attached to a turn-screw that moves the steering wheel assembly in and out. The passenger side motor turns a cable attached to a screw that moves it up and down. The cables break and it will not turn the screw and only makes a clicking sound with the frayed cables ends as they turn. Wish I knew a good solution. I'm working on one now and will repost if I find out anything useful. |

Well, mine quit for 2 days, and miraculously fixed itself right before it was supposed to go to the dealer for another issue....been working fine since...guess the BMW gremlins had to get their pecking order re-established again...one of the gnomes was out of line ;-)

Are our controls supposed to light up on the steering wheel at night?
