Intravee II/Alpine KCA-420i versus Dice Silverline Pro

I neep help in deciding which one to order, I have an iPhone 3G and will probably upgrade to a 3Gs or even 4G next year or so. I have an e53 2006 with the Business Radio (CD, no nav), I have the bluetooth module, I don't have the CD charger, I have the DSP but it seems that I don't need any digital converter since I also have the 6 pins and the 3 pins connectors avalable in the trunk.

My criteria are:

1) Sound quality
2) Stability of the product (no surprise)
3) Usability (can use both the Steering or the iPhone interface, navigation of the tracks, charging the iPhone, compatible with my bluetooth integration)
4) Forward compatibility with future iPhone version
5) Availability in NA

Any hands on experience to share?

I wouldn't recommend getting DICE unit!
Worst iPod adapter I ever used.
Constantly looses connection which requires you to disconnect and reconnect the ipod. And text display is not stable either. Everytime I start my car I have to reconfigure. CRAP!
I am returning mine and getting a GROM since I had good experience with them on my other vehicles.

Do a search on "DICE Issue" and you will find many people having these issues as I did.

Feel free to contact me directly by phone and I will be happy to explain the differences in detail, along with any other questions you may have.

The Intravee with it's expansion unit has certainly gotten my attention.

The ability to connect an iPod, MP3 CD changer, satellite tuner, and whatever other AiNet accessory to the OEM system (all simultaneously) is a SICK feature.

It seems like getting the Alpine unit may become an issue since it's not produced anymore.

For the Intravee, the guys at ToysInYourCar, the sole vendor of Intravee currenly said that they are expecting a shipment soon.

Thanks for you input, this worth investigating but I'm not ready to abandon DICE yet as an option, I guess that overtime, they have certainly updated their products.

What I would realy like to know is if their latest version, the "Silverline Pro" has improved over the previous models. The fact that they are based in the US and that there product is self-standing, without the need another product from another company (Alpine in example) also is a plus.

Thanks again and I hope that someone will chime in with a similar or a better expenrience that yours.

Yea you would have to look on the used market, my quick search turned up some good stuff on eBay etc.
