alarm keeps going off for no reason
I can't figure out why my alarm keeps going off for no reason. Is there a way I can shut it off or adjust it somehow? It an 03 4.6IS. What a royal pain in the ass when I think I'm going to get to pumble someone for breaking into my ride and no one is around.

Not sure how to adjust it but it may be worth while switching off the movement sensors inside the car. This can be done by pressing the lock button (middle one) again after locking the car. If it stops it going off at least you know it has something to do with the sensors.
Hope this helps |

Just so I understand you correctly, from being unlocked, I press the 'BMW logo' button on my key, then press it again and that will turn one of the alarm system functions off?
Maybe someone knows a little more about this one also but my mechanic told me to put the key in the driverside door and from the unlocked position, lock it then unlock it and lock it again 3 times finishing with the door being unlocked. I then get in, start my vehicle, let it run for a bit and then shut it off and the alarm system should be disengaged. If anyone knows anything more about this, please let me know. Thanks

Hi gofast yes this will turn off your alarm siren so it will not go off.

incorrect, this will only disable the interior motion sensor and the tilt on some models. most faulty x5 alarms have failed hood switches. the remedy is to replace it with the updated longer plunger version.
