Climate Control Issues.....:(

So today I hopped into the X (00 4.4i) and took it for a drive. I hadn't driven it much since the winter ended(ish) but today was nice and I decided to drive it. *Note heat worked fine throughout the winter only flaking out a couple times*

Anyways today I turned on the A/C and turned the temp to 60 since it was warmer out today here for once and it wouldn't blow out the vents. It was FREEZING cold air out of the floor vents where the heat usually comes out. So I figured something was up and started playing with the controls to see what was going on. I hit the Windshield/Up ventilation button and air immediately moved up to the windshield and blew from there.

Then I pressed the floor button and back the air went to the floor. I hit the "middle" vent button and it stayed on the floor, it would only do the windshield or floor. All the temperature adjustments work perfectly as I turned it from 60 up to 90 and let the heat blast and still the same thing.

Then as I pulled in my driveway I shut the car off and figured I would give it one last try....AND it started to work and came out the vents I hit the other buttons and it adjusted through them all perfectly so I figured it was ok then it STUCK only this time on the vent position.....NOW it only blows through the vents and I cant get it to change to the floor or windshield...

What is going on? is it this infamous Final Stage Resistor I have searched about? The fan works variably on all speeds and all the heat/ac works fine its just the direction of the air flow

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
~Tim
