Confused about LOW COOLANT warning...

I got a low coolant warning last evening. I checked the forums here and they said always to go for Orange colored Coolant. I contacted my Service advisor today and he said that he'll top it up for me with Green colored Coolant. To my surprise, he told me never to use Orange colored and always use green colored. Now please clear my confusion as to which one to use - Green or Orange colored or DexCool ????????????

Did you check to see if coolant was actually "low"? ...sometimes it's a glitch or bad sensor. I use DexCool or Havoline brand, both of which are non-green.
Withidl, a very informed poster here, (and it's that ol'guy's B'Day today!), says the green sucks. Dunno what BMW's green stuff is, actually. I think your SA is doing the company dance. GL,md

There is no uniform color for the various types of coolants. The color is more of a brand or region thing. European makers are known for using a coolant that is blue.

All the DexCool or Havoline brand or Havoline "likes" I've seen are kinda orange or, actually look like bad orange soda w/a slight red cast...here in the Ol'
