X5 wiper reset
Does any one know how to reset the park position of the front windscreen wipers? My wipers are parking at 12o'clock which isnt brilliant. I dont want to force them back to the proper position so there must be an easier solution. Cheers for reading Highlander |

Welcome highlander! The wipers park at 12:00 when the wiper switch is left on, and the key is turned off. Is it possible you have the wiper switch on or a defective switch?

Wipers
Thanks Dave
I tried switching off the ignition etc and various other maneuvers but the darn things keep stopping at 12. I think the problem started when I tried to clear 6" of snow off the windscreen using the wiper power only................. maybe the motor mechanism has slipped or something and needs to be reset at the dealer. |

Check the bolt/s holding the wiper linkage together. They have a habit of coming loose. There's an article in xoutpost.com reference section.

Anyone know a fix for this?
My wipers are also stopping at 12 position, This started to happen after I tightened a nut that was loose after I cleared a bunch of snow off the windshield with the wipers. The wipers seem to operate perfectly apart from the stoppage at the wrong position.

I am hoping this will take care of the problem:
"I am pretty sure the problem is not the motor or relay since you claim your wipers move properly. The problem is when you install the motor to the transmission linkage main bolt have to be adjusted so that when the motor stop the wiper do so at the bottom of the windshield. I have same problem and this is what I did to fix it: Firs don't install the black final grill since you need to access the motor below; you also need to properly install your blade arms so that they correctly move in range. (Bottom to end of the windshield) Now that you adjust the wiper arm range don't worry if they don't stop at the bottom, lose the main bolt coming from the motor shaft, reposition the arms by hand at the bottom of the windshield. Give power to the motor, yes the motor is going to spin but the blade wont move obviously, stop the motor once the motor stop, that is the home base position. Now make sure you tide the bolt back, without moving the motor shaft position. Now once you start the blade they will stop at the bottom. Please let me know if these fix your problem.
