Rear clunk over bumps is gone.
I've been getting a clunk in the rear for some time now. Starts just backing out of the driveway in the morning, then over speedbumps and even certain slow speed bumpy roads. Dealer diagnosed as rear control arms (not coverend under CPO warranty, hand over $1000 please) and sway bar drop links. I knew it couldn't be the drop links since I'd replaced them just before Christmas.
Well after y'all had posted a few weeks ago about the upper hatch latch fix, I figured I'd try wrapping two rounds of plastic packaging tape around the catch on the lower hatch, the part that the upper latch grabs when closed. Voila, noise completely gone. It's been a week and all is still silent. So much for the dealer's $1000 non-warranty diagnosis. Thanks everyone. Silence is golden!
