BMW X5 Recalls?

According to 2001 BMW X5 Recalls, Defects, Recall Reports & Problems at InternetAutoGuide.com

The 2001 BMW X5 4.4i has a bunch of different recalls and I was wondering if I could send the X over to have all these recalls fixed up? :/

Call the dealer and have them run your VIN to see if there is any open campaigns on your vehicle.

So from what your saying is that if my X5 has not been to any recalls previously they must fix every single recall issue at hand at no charge?

If that is what he's saying, then he's stoned. If your car has ever been to a dealer for a service appointment then they would have run an open recall check on it. The diarrhea that you see posted above is meaningless. Just because a recall was issued for a certain model year does not mean that every car built in that year is affected. In actuality only a small number are ever affected by the recalls.

What you should have is a complete service history of your car and then you'll know a lot more about it.

Some dealers won't "run" your VIN, understandably...
OP: hit a dlr you "know" and have them run your key;
all BMW dlr maintenance, service and recall(s) work
performed should show in that key run.

They may pitch you on something, but easy to say,
"No thanks". This isn't rocket science, or the Inquisition...

X5 Meister,
I just pointed out “ALL the possible recalls for a 01 X5”. You are right not every recall campaign will apply to his X5, however he posted he did not want to contact the dealer to check if there is any open campaigns so I just listed ALL the possible recalls. Also, if you believe the dealer will check for you voluntarily for open campaigns you are stoned. You have to ask to check if there is any open campaigns and once the car is out of warranty most car owners will not go to a dealer for repairs.

a lot of the recalls only affect a limited number of vehicles as miester says .
sometimes cars built during a specific shift / day / week .
