Also, weekly doughnuts are excellent for keeping the suspension and steering aligned. |

My struts were creaking internally when turning, from a binding internal spring seat, but that fully stopped when I drove at 50mph on a dirt road to the camp this past weekend. I guess I knocked it all back in position.

Driving your car hard once in awhile will actually burn any excess oil which will clean out your engine. There might be people out there that disagree but I come from owning cars that I drag in the strip. Also, when I'm working on a car that has a newly built block. I run them hard to seat the rings on the pistons. My cars always have run smoother after a hard drive. Again, this is me and there will be people that disagree (or just too scared to drive their car the way they were meant to be driven). Aslong as you're not switching like a mad man and going full throttle from a stop everywhere you go. Your baby will be fine.

Hey Weasel,
I do that every time I go out. We live 1.5 miles up a dirt road!! We had an "interesting" winter. |

Mine gets pushed daily and still comes back asking for more
I have noticed that on hot days the car seems to not run as "powerful" as on cold days... I've owned other BMWs in the past but they were 6's. Anyone experience the same with their X? 6 or 8.

Every once and a while I take Mums 4.8 for a spin, and it feels sluggish.
I am guessing this is because it memorizes my mums driving style (slow accel. slow braking) Of course when I take the 4.8, my driving style is the exact opposite. Is it wise to take a gently used car and suddenly bust out some speed on it? Maybe I should do that pedal reset thing before I take it out, because it feels like I am stressing/confusing the 4.8 when I put the pedal to the floor.

I drove an 01 330i, but I drive that quite often and I am familiar with both cars. I guess I will reset the adaption values for the transmission now and then. The drive to oklahoma was all highway so I guess the x5 needs high speed highway miles now and then.
