Split front thrust arm bushes?

you mean this procedure?
http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...-c-vs-yet.html if so, they have ball joint separator tools you can rent from your local autozone/pepboys/whatever quick autoparts store near you... but you will need a press to get the bushing out and new one installed correctly.
