Check your fuses for your latch. Have u done any aftermarket wiring?

Also, if the left and right bump stops are set too far out it can cause the car to see the lid as open... make sure they aren't adjusted too far out.

The bump stops are adjusted correctly, the unit I bought from a wrecker and I think it's faulty because the boot light won't turn off even if I close the latch manually with a screw driver while the tailgate is open. Is the sensor located in the latch unit? I had a look at realoem.com using my sav vin LN88048 but I can not see any sensor?
