rear vent fan not working

I have a 2005 4.4 with the fan speed control on the drivers side and temperature on the passenger side of the rear passengers vent. The fan is not coming on and the dial moves freely. I have searched and not found an answer. I will take the console out tomorrow to look for anything interesting. Does anyone know where the rear fan resistor control is?

took out plastic lining, fan working but stepper closed

I took out the plastic liner in the center console and realized that the fan was turning off and on for the rear vents per the dial on the drivers side. There is a flap which closes the vent and the arm for the flap to the stepper motor was disconnected. I could not see where to re-attach the arm to the stepper motor, so for now I opened the flap fully to allow air for the rear passengers.

I had this same issue. This is exactly what I did. If you open up your center console, you should be able to remove the piece where you put your things on. There you will see a plastic vent tube where you can detach it. Inside of that there will be a fin that you can push to open it. I didn't understand where the controls were for it so I just left it open the whole time. The speed oft he fan can be control from the dial. Hope that helps.
