Question 2004 BMW X5 with standard radio

Hi I have a 2004 BMW X5 with standard radio Model 65.82-6 914 606
and Business CD Model CD53 E39/53 P/NO 65.12-6 941 507. Is there
a replacment unit that still controls e.g. Adjust the time
on the dash cluster display , Temperature on dash cluster,
steering wheel radio control, phone control as in blue tooth also
controlled from steering controls, basically what ever the unit I
have now can it do the same? Will the radio work with Australian
frequency's?

With some certain aftermarket CD players you can use an interface box to use the steering wheel buttons, but no aftermarket radio will be able to do the check control functions... But the radio display is just a controller interface and the actual radio itself is built into the cd player part of it. So if you can get a single din cd player up there without moving the MID it is all good, or you can relocate the MID to the glovebox and put a really nice double din in the X.

Either way there are threads with good info and pics all over this forum.

What do you want to achieve? When BMW includes features like premium sound, additional amps, additional speakers, satellite radio, etc, it is often the same radio with additional modules added on (usually in the rear storage area in the boot). Some of those can likely be added on to your existing radio. Do you want different features, better sound, or ????

The screen with the dead pixels isn't the actual radio, just a control display... And I don't think there is any aftermarket option to replace it that will carry it's functionality. Replacing the CD player with something else won't fix what your problem is unfortunately. What you're proposing is like replacing the computer because the monitor/screen went out... wrong component.
