Rear Power Seat Question

I have a 2004 X5 with the rear power seats. I see a switch above the headrest of the seat and there is another at the trunk end of the car. When I push it forward, the backs of the seats only go forward a few inches. The dealer says that is normal, but it makes no sense to me why there would be a power switch at the trunk if you still have to go through the back door to manually flatten the seat. Anyone else have experience with this? Should the power button move the seat all the way flat? Thanks!

Nope don't worry your X is functioning like it should. I guess the power seat is so it can recline more than normal? It is strange now that I think of it that they dont fold all the way with the power.

According to the Owner's Manual this funtion is to give you a little more room in the rear for hauling - you can tilt the backs of the seats up for more space w/o walking around to the rear door(s) and using the switches there. IMHO not that useful.

Ya, it's more I think for the comfort of the people in the back seat...maybe they want to adjust it just a bit for more comfort.

I have 04 x5 3.0i which have power buttons above the rear passenger head, but when I push it forward or backward, it does nothing. The power button on the cargo/liftgate works fine? Please help. Thaank

Nautica03 the only thing I can think of is your driverside window lock button.. if the driverside window lock button is engaged then the seat buttons over the rear seat wont work.
