Nope don't worry your X is functioning like it should. I guess the power seat is so it can recline more than normal? It is strange now that I think of it that they dont fold all the way with the power.

According to the Owner's Manual this funtion is to give you a little more room in the rear for hauling - you can tilt the backs of the seats up for more space w/o walking around to the rear door(s) and using the switches there. IMHO not that useful.

Ya, it's more I think for the comfort of the people in the back seat...maybe they want to adjust it just a bit for more comfort.

I have 04 x5 3.0i which have power buttons above the rear passenger head, but when I push it forward or backward, it does nothing. The power button on the cargo/liftgate works fine? Please help. Thaank

Nautica03 the only thing I can think of is your driverside window lock button.. if the driverside window lock button is engaged then the seat buttons over the rear seat wont work.
