I am not sure if that is the problem, but chances are that it is. These are VERY notorious for breaking on the X5. Yes, it is number 15 on realoem. AND I know a good place to buy these cheap- autolampsplus.com has them for about 46 bucks can't beat that. Just talked to Josh from there and he said he can't keep these on the shelf, it is their #1 seller. Mention you are from Xoutpost and he may give you a price break too.

Thanks Bimmerboy.

I found the shop you mentioned on ebay.. Great prices...!!!

A shame that with added postage, it is almost the same for me to buy the part in Norway....

I did not want to order the part until i was sure it was the door carrier.. But i guess it is most likely the carrier indeed...

Unless someone else has a tip.?

Just bought one from them on Sunday - first door carrier to break after 193K miles!!

Can't view the video here at work, but essentially I cannot open my driver's door with the outside handle. Handle is also not returning to its normal position - kind of sticking out and up a little.

I have the same problem and am looking for a fix. Although I can guess it's the same part, I recently tryed to pull off the inner door pannel with no success to access the area. Anyone know any tricks to getting it off or is there another way to access?

Search the site for "door handle carrier" - instructions will be included in the results.
