N62 lower oil pan torque spec

Hi. I am new here but have been on BF.com for a while for my e39 540iT. Looks like the X community is much more active here so I am seeking help.

We recently purchased an 05 X5 4.4i and as I am doing some maintenance on it, I found out the previous owner/shop has stripped the oil pan drain hole.
I am thinking to replace the lower oil pan and hoping someone can help me with the torque specs for the bolts when putting it back on. Also anything I need to be aware of when doing this job. I will be getting new pan, gasket, and oil level sensor gasket.

Thanks!

Depending on the bolt grade, there are different specs. I won't be able to look them up in the Bentley book until tonight if you still need them. They recommend new bolts as they come with "sealant" (check out ECS for pics). I'm doing that job next oil change and just ordered new bolts.

In most vehicles, the oil sump bolts torque is about 8-9 ft*lb and that is all.
Sometimes it is difficult to fit a torque wrench under the car, so I use the "1-finger" trick @ 6" away from the wrench. Use only one finger.

This is because: 8 ft*lb is the same as 16 lbs at 6" away on your ratchet.
The human 1 finger rarely has more strength than 16 lbs.

Bentley states for the M62 - lower oil pan to upper oil pan torques as follows:

M6 (8.8 grade) - 89 in-lb
M6 (10.9 grade) - 9 ft-lb
M8 (8.8 grade) - 16 ft-lb
Oil drain plug to oil pan (M12) - 18 ft-lb

Note the difference in units above in-lb vs ft-lb
