Asheville is such a great city, go to Tupelo Honey Cafe, great brunch/breakfast/lunch spot in downtown Asheville.

Welcome to HillbillyHeaven, MINIz!
Hope you are enjoying our "backyard"...
Deal's Gap is one of the more overrated runs in the east;
Rt 129 from Robbinsville, to the Dragon, is sensational, however.

Keep it under 40 and between the fences on the Dragon.
GL, mD

Yeah, that road is pretty good all the way from 19/74 to the Dragon. We take it from 19/74 to Lake Santeetlah a few times a year going to my buddies lake house.

Is the Fugitive Bridge actually on the Dragon? That is something else to look for/get a photo of.

My favorite is NC 215, but nobody knows about that one.

Make sure you check out downtown Greenville while you're in town!

On the road to Deal's Gap. I got a T-shirt there. We could only drive 11 miles down before it was closed for a rock slide, but I believe we covered the whole Tail of the Dragon. I drove down and my dad drove back up while I took pictures.

Nice pics, MINIz!
See why it's such a raw deal, living here in hillbillyheaven and having
to drive those kinds of roads every day?!

Hope you dodged the daily soakers and monster T Storms...
we got our azz kicked up here on the Mtn, again this afternoon.

D/M, I know 215 very well, but not my fave: turns are too tight/low speed, for fun on my scoots and it's a tire scrubber in the Vette, imo.
But, a fun 2 lane, "sort of" blacktop.

I don't quite remember all the routes we went on, but many were amazing. Views were great everywhere. I'll be on the lookout for pictures of our ride on Killboy or US129Photos soon.

Tomorrow we're visiting the Biltmore, so probably no update then. They day after is the Blue Ridge Parkway on the way to SC!

Be sure to spend the few bucks and get the carry around audio tour gizmo, for the Biltmore...fabulous place,
if a lil' overwhelming and repetitive, via all the rooms and stuff. The flower gardens are nice,
from afar; I would skip the "winery", (junque vino), and the foo foo outside stuff.
GL, mD

PS: if you get there earlyish, as in before 9:30/10:00, just park in
the lot and walk in. Easy 5+ min walk and you come in to the open
bailey looking across toward the famous buildings...skip the shuttle ride
in, imo.
