This is why I have been inactive (Car Accident, Totaled?)

So, im sure some of the great members of the community that have been helping me out with my previous issues with my X have been wondering where I have disappeared?

Well unfortunately a few days ago I was involved in a car accident and I got injured pretty bad on my left side and my back....

An ambulance cut of a tow truck that had around 3 or 4 cars on it and turned right into me when I had the green/right of way. He claims he didnt even see me coming out of my lane because the tow truck to my left was to big for us to even see each other and he made a right turn cutting off the tow truck and hitting me head on.

Below is the images of my X..... I feel so bad even though I believe that the X will get a total loss and i should be able to get a new one, I feel like shit because i did so much to keep the X running. Rebuilding my Transmission recently was one of the many things I have done to keep pushing the X. Since its a 2001 4.4 the value for a mint coditioned X according to KBB is 14k and the damage seems more then 75% of the value

Plus not to mention that I got injured pretty badly. (My back and my hole left side was hit pretty hard and my girl friends air bags went off (Passenger side) while mine did not... the ambulance hit my door dead on and my hole left side hit the door on impact, i was amazed my air bag did not come out but the police said that it had to have been hit in a specific way to set it off or something....

Anyways I will be back on here with updates in the future, just wont be here as frequently as I once was due to the painful healing process.

Below are the pictures of the damage.

Hey, you're okay, that's all that matters. In that respect, the X5 did its job.

If it is totaled, I'd consider picking up those Depo headlights off of you. LMK if you do start to part it out.

Jeez, thats where you've been. Kinda weird the drivers side head protection and door airbag didn't get triggered.... I guess the right impart sensors didn't see enough G-forces or something.

KingSimon,
Glad you and your GF are ok, other than sore and bruises...
cars can be replaced.

Luckily that near Tbone wasn't 3 feet more toward the front.

Thats terrible news Simon, I hope everything works out for you and you get this whole mess sorted out. Kind of curious about the airbags not going off on the drivers side. I read a thread on E46Fanatics about a guy who hit a pothole and had the airbags go off and had a BMW tech from Germany came and wrote him a check.

Get everything checked out and who knows whats next? 4.8is maybe?

I think that'll buff right out.

Glad to hear you are ok. This is why we don't drive a Honda Fit...
