US Sidemarkers / parking lights

Hey y'all,

here's my next question, this time just 4 fun.

Thinking about my last trip to the US and the X5 with the orangy sidemarker lights in the front, the other day I went ahead and enabled something like BLK_V_GED_ALS_SM (turn signal front dimmed as sidemarkers) [don't recall the exact name though and don't have my programming laptop with me right now], but now the turn signals are on full brightness with the parking lights (angel eyes in my case).

So I was wondering whether that's how it is in the US?
Or are they less bright when continuously on then when flashing?

What I would really like though still is to have the sidemarkers come on with the DRLs too, but I don't know if that's the way it is in the US?

Btw, anyone else here program their cars themselves?

easy, dont turn the turn signals on.

wish it were that easy. The turn signals turn on with the angels. Also, they turn on when the headlights are on.

you are talking about us parking lights.
if you want them off pm killcrap and he will do it for you( he did mine) for more info see my sig.

Will the dealer or an indy do programing like that? I want to disable the DRL's and find a way to run just angel eyes during the day. Right now the only way the AE's come on is with the head lights. So in the daytime you can barely see the AE's.

Dealer will flat out deny your request as reprogramming light functions can make them legally liable for any ticket/accident you may have in the future.

I can't send my ecu to killcrap because I'm in Canada.....

I have done the parking-light delete on my RS4 (with the ever so easy vag-com). Wish BMW was that easy!

i did sarb's and he is in Canada also. whats the problem?
