Greetings fellow
Ultimate Driving Machinists (what we are doing when we are not driving)! I am at 100K on my X5 & overdue for some suspension maintenance. Control Arms, Bushings and maybe an Anti-Sway Bar link (or 2) in the front. Bushings in the rear.
Would like to find some of these "Gee Whiz"
aftermarket tools that have been dreamed up to make the jobs go easier. Would like to press the rear bushings OFF then new ones ON while on the car. Is there an alternative device other than what is called out in the Bently manual?
Also, discovered that the front inside CV Boot wants to come off (Greasy on the inside, dry outside) looks like I am catching it in time. I see that ECS Tuning has a nifty gadget for the outside Boot. I supect I am looking at Major Disassembly on that one. Planning to install new Poly Bushings on the existing Wishbone Arm (Front). Has anyone installed Poly bushings all around? Is ther something better than Polyurethane?
Any help or links from those of you who have been down this path would be very mush appreciated.
