Replacing CD Radio with the 16:9 screen question
Hello everybody,
I am pretty new here and have a 2002 X5 3.0 Diesel with the business CD radio. Wondering now since a long time if it would be possible to change the radio and the display with a 16:9 device. I would not need the navigation feature but all the rest like heater programming, radio, full board computer functionality and so on. Would also love to add the backside camera feature. Any ideas from you would really be appreciated. Sorry if my English is not right - it is not my mother tongue. Best regards, H |

It's not an easy project, but it has been done. See http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/all...system-x5.html for insights into what is required.

Oh man, went through the description (fast). No chance - would need the fire brigade with all the electrical tricky work. I was under the impression that if I do not need the navigation part I could simply swap the radio and the BC display out and put a 16:9 screen in.
But it seems that is not possible. Thanks anyway - will have to live with my business CD solution. H |
