HELP!@!!!! HOPE SOMEONE CAN ANSWER THIS QUESTION!!

HI ALL, thanks for the time in advance!

i have a 2003 4.6is, i want to replace the power steering hose, and im just wondering if i can use one from a 2001 4.4i? i search the internet, they look the same, but has a different part number....not sure if i can still use it or not....thanks all!!!

If it fits use it! I once had a hydraulic parts store make me a power steering hose for a BMW. The OEM cost about 100 times what the parts store made for me and was actually rated to a higher level that the piece of crap OEM hose.

it will fit. the power steering pump and hoses r universal.

Same reason that Volkswagen / Audi / Porsche parts for identical applications have different part numbers - so the owners of the more expensive vehicle can be gouged more.

Side benefit - if a safety recall is taken up for one part, it won't apply to the differently-numbered/labeled parts, thus the reason Lexus owners are still struggling to get in on the Toyota recalls for identical parts defects.
