X5 E53 Questions
2001 BMW X5 STEPTRONIC E53 Private Cars For Sale in SA - carsales.com.au as a run around and just have a few questions about it. Do all the V8's come with GPS? Are all of the V8's Steptronic? What is Steptronic, it is also noted on some of the e and 5 series. Any help would be great fellas. |

Navi is optional. Steptronic is the ability to shift up or down a gear. It's useless IMO. Keep it in sport and just step on the gas.

GPS optional
steptronic is automatic , sport automatic , sequential manual selection , gear stick has PRND on the console , whilst in D you could shift lever to side gate labeled M/S + / - the instrument cluster will show indicated mode selection so when in D if you move lever to the side the instrument will indicate D S , indicating auto sport mode . if you then move gear stick back this will sequentially upshift , if you move stick forward it will sequentially downshift . once you manually select a gear the transmission is in manual mode until D is selected . if you buy an X5 be sure to read the handbook for all operating procedures . there is a cool thread on this site you will find using the search function at top of page titled cool hidden features of the X5 . good luck EDIT ; found the link for you , worth a read . .http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...es-e53-x5.html Last edited by amacman; 10-20-2010 at 11:35 PM. |
