Help! Acceleration probelm w/ codes, + other fun stuff

2001 x5 3.0. CEL is on, scanned and throwing code P0369, which read out to be camshaft position sensor B intermittent. Research found this to be exhaust sensor. However, when I got the part that many have recommended, it looks like its the intake sensor.
first question, can that code be thrown for the intake sensor as well?

second question. I would replace them both and be done with it, but the car is accelerating weird. from 1-3000 rpms, its kind of sluggish like its just not getting air (hence why maybe it actually is the intake sensor), then it "wakes up" so to speak and starts accelerating.

So, my real question is this: Are these possibly related problems, and are there other things I should rule out before doing the sensors? i.e., Mass air sensor, coils, fuel injectors, O2 sensors?

I know my way around cars very well, and can do most repairs/checks by myself. But I'm a student in college, so I can't go to the dealership and spend money on their " this might be it" repairs. I'm also not on mommy and daddy's payroll

Thanks everyone for any help you can provide.
