Exclamation sorry to vent, but very P>>>OFFF

here's one... i finally brought my beauty to the stealer cause it had an annoying squeek in the back and it wasnt the traditional hatch door. it was a couple of loose bolts in the suspension at first so they said...69 bucks which i thought was cheep . I left and 30 seconds later i realized the squeek was still there and made a u,ee and talked to the gm and he said sorry ill take care of it. i get the call a day later suppossedly it was the passenger side control arm which cost $1,031 bucks... i stated just fix the problem please.....i picked up the car after two more days and then i left after being furious from the first misdiagnose.... and i thought i heard something but said to myself its a figment of my imagination but low and behold when i arrived home i went to my lake which has speed bumps and there it was again........holy fwqopeuroqpweurq i am now a mellow dude but just do me right...i called the gm and let it rip,,,,,said hope you are ready for a hurricane cause all i asked for was to get rid of a simple squeek and never asked for a price and you couldnet even do that now you made me spend and wait for five days without my baby and its done what now? all he did was apologize but F that I say never go to Bridgeport, Ct. BMW they know shit and simple at that a back yard mechnic could fix it...question is how far is it worth me going with this on this stealer?

Some things like noises can be hard to diagnose. It took several visits and several dealers before I was able to lose a noise in the front.

I know it is frustrating, but it is sometimes the nature of noises.

I was lucky in that my X was still under warranty when I was looking for my noise. It is a shame for you that yours was not.

Had my X not been still under warranty, I don’t think I would have taken it to the dealer for a squeek without first being fairly sure I knew exactly where the noise originated.

Yep! you can vent!... yes noise can be 'natural' to cars but what is really pisssing is mis-diagnosis that these so called professionals do which in most cases come with a huge cost. At one point I was made to buy all 4 shocks for my E46 when I was really bloke just because I complained to the dealer that Iam having some noise when cornering... I took the car for a spin only to realize the sound is still there! with all the 4 new shocks still shinning.... what the hell was going on!!!? Took back the car, went to the Workshop Manager, complained and cursed like a pirate. We went to the car told his boys to lift it overhead, within 2 minutes underneath... there is the problem! Control arms rubbers are finished (play in sockets)... What!?.... yep... you need both sides! Fine replace. Now what about my spoilt shocks and my money for new ones... "Sir, these boys sometimes dont check thoroughly... sorry!"

Finally car fixed but spent unnecessarily.

ajthedy try to get another opinion/fix from another place.

I would pursue a refund of the $1,031 if it did not resolve the problem. My opinion is I'm taking the vehicle to the "experts" and relying on their "expertise" to solve a problem. If they misdiagnose it then they need to eat the cost of the misdiagnosis.

I am trying to figure on out right now.

I hope you paid by credit card. If the GM will not assist in giving you a refund, call the credit card company and protest the charges. The credit card company will put a hold on the charges and then give the dealership a chance to respond or correct the vehicle.

I know first hand finding squeaks and rattles is a pain in the backside, use to do this as a dealership tech back in the days when QC was crap. But you could find them if dedicated. Sometimes two techs would have to work together to find the source, but it could be found.

Keep to your guns. You spent big bucks, now it is time for the dealership to belly up to the bar.

I tend to... While "noises" can be very hard to diagnose, a legit
dlr should not just part/cost you to death, hoping it fixes the original
problem. And, I would hunt up a good BMW Indie; the only people that
keep going back to a dlr, out of warranty, are either lazy, rich,
or, their bro'n-law is the tech, SA or GM, imo.

I start to worry when i don't here noises! People i pick up get so blown away by the way the truck looks they don't even notice the noises. lol

FYI. I spray a bit of lube on the air ride in the rear and that stops one of the noises i have for about 6 weeks. (Note: Make sure lube is ok to use on rubber)

Good Luck

Vent away!!! This is an all to common story for BMW dealerships. I have been to all 3 dealerships in Arizona and almost every time they are unable to properly diagnose and repair the car. I have to go back and have them re-fix what I asked them to do. I don't understand how they cant provide the service they are offering. it seems like BMW NA doesnt really care about making the dealerships any better. I think they are an absolute waste of time and I only take my BMW's to independent shops. There is a more personal element knowing who is working on my car. However, if the car is still under factory warranty there isn't any other option.
