Help from our German Friends! What does "kennzeichenl. prüfen" mean???

Tried to google it but was led to German websites still could NOT understand Tried the on-line German dictionary but direct translation mean "attribute analyze/check" My guess is that this mean check identity or license plate (attribute may pertain to identity or plate number...maybe) but why does it want me to check my license plate number??? |

It wants you to check your license plate light.

Thank you so much JCL! Yes that's right! I recently installed a backup camera using the license plate receptacle. Strange that even with a bulb on the camera assembly, it still wants me to check it. anyway, I will just figure out how to cheat the computer. Thanks again!

Your camera likely doesn't have the same current draw as the original bulb, and the vehicle systems know it. Good luck.
