Heat/AC problem

Can someone help me out with this. Yesterday I got into my 01' X5 and turned the heat on, but no air would come out of the vents not even the defrost. I hear the air blowing but its just not coming thru the vents, i also tried the A/C and still nothing. And yes all vents are in the open position. However, air does come out of the rear vents, located behind the center console. Anyone ever have this happen to them? thanks for any help.

J

You live in cold weather. The air won't come out of the vents until the air is warm enough (the engine is warm enough). Does air eventually come out?

True when on automatic but if you turn it to manual then you can force the air, at least this is how it works on mine.
