Anyone any idea if this pipe should be connected to something? (3.0d Sport)

Having a look round the engine bay this morning I noticed this pipe to the right hand side of the engine which doesn't appear to have anything on the end of it. I can't see a loose pipe anywhere else. Is it meant to be connected to something?
Engine is a 3.0d, not sure if it would be different for other models.

Dont worry about that. Its a breather pipe and not meant to be connected to anything.
My 3.0d has the same pipe.
