turn signal bulbs

So I had a bulb burn out several months ago and replaced it with a parts store one. Rear turn signal. And few months later now it burns out again. Seems strange. Are the factory BMW bulbs rated for higher current than the generic parts store replacements? Maybe I should be using BMW bulbs? Anybody have this same experience?

I swapped in another parts store bulb since I bought two before and it works fine. For now. But I wonder for how long?

I changed mine a year ago, I bought it at local part store. Did you touch the bulb when you were installing the light bulbs? if you did try to avoid the glass area when you installing the light bulb

wait. avoid touching the bulb itself? never heard of that. Why? How are you supposed to install them? I can't see a way to do it w/o touching unless maybe wearing gloves...

That's the reason why you see there are lots of cars on the road with only one side of headlight working. I have told a guy in the cartoys not to do that but he doesn't believe in me. wear gloves and clean it with alcohol before you change any light bulbs
