switching off boot lid lighting?how?
ps turning of interior lighting in the rest of the cabin is possible by pressing down the middle button on the overhead console and holding it down for a few seconds, that deactivates the courtesy lights coming on every time you open the doors, but doesn't work to keep the 2 bootlid lights off..... |

Why are you worry about battery drain if the car is being driven? Having those lights on for 30minutes to an hour during loading/unloading should not drain the battery. If the car is running, the alternator will power them, thus no worries for battery drain. But if you must turn off those light, just use a screw driver and insert it into the hatch's latching mechanism causing it to lock and therefore shutting off those bootlid lights. I've used this trick quick a few times when I need to keep the hatch open for hours.

hey thanks fella, so stick a scredriver or pen pencil where the locking mechanism on the top part of the boot lid lives tricks it into thinking the bootlid is shut......and so lights out, ahhh just not ken on driving with lights on and also good tip as often when i open all door for valeting etc would llike to keep boot lid open also but avoid it....nothing like giving interior a good clean and letting it air dry i say, thanks again

Don't forget to "unlock" the bootlid first (to open the locking mechanism) prior to having it shut. Otherwise, it will just "thunk" onto the lower gate latch.

The lights in the boot go out with the lid open after a while anyway, but it is about 30 mins if I remember. I leave mine open when fishing sometimes but have got into the habbit of unplugging the bulbs.
