2005-2006 x5 "M" package?

Is there such a thing? I have just searched for an hour and really cant find any solid info google or on these forums. Maybe I'm not the the search master but I have tried b4 asking here.

Can anyone say if it was an option and what was changed on the x5 M version? Was it just some badges and interior options?

Here is a link to an ad, is it a scam?
Cars for Sale: 2005 BMW X5 4.8is in West L.A., CA 90025: Sport Utility Details - 286273590 - AutoTrader.com

There is also an imola red 2006 at the same dealer with m badges.

The model you are looking at is an e53 or first generation X5. There was no BMW M version for this body style. That is a fake badge. However, the model in your link is the 4.8is, which was the top dog of the e53 X5's. It has about 360 horsepower, different interior and guage clusters, flaired fender arches, 20 inch wheels, bigger brakes, aero kit and so on. The 4.8is, replaced the pre-face lift 4.6is, which was somewhat similar with regards to performance upgrades, except for it's Alpina tuned engine. That version had about 15-20 hp less than the 4.8is.

For your info pre-face lift was up to and including model year 2003, which included the 3.0i, 4.4i and 4.6is. The facelifted e53 from 2004 and on included the 3.0i, 4.4i and 4.8is.

3.0i's are straight six engines, 4.4i's are regular V8's and the 4.6is/4.8is were performance oriented V8's.

lurker here.

Fwiw, I've been to that store a few times, and they're legit.

They mostly deal with 2-5 year old BMW's, mostly still under warranty.
