35% or 20% black tints?

Decision time:

I have carbon black with black leather. Where I live, 35% is legal, 20% is borderline. I want to be able to see the outside world pretty much as it really is - I don't want to feel that that everything is dull outside (or worse, that the green grass is gray!). But I also want some privacy.

Given these criteria, what to go with, 20% or 35%?

u probably want to go w/ the least amount of
tint if ur concerned w/ keeping the outside looking
true to what it is.

Interestingly, our other car has 35% titanium (slightly mirrored?) tints and that seems to achieve a good compromise between privacy and "true view" of the outside. But the tinting shop said that, because the X5 has more window surface area, they might appear lighter (too light) on the X5.

don't do mirror tint.
it will adversely affect ur radio reception.
at least that's what others have said here.

i, personally, have 20% all the way around,
but then again, i don't have a "true view" of
the outside world.

I went with 15% all the way around. Thinking about putting 30ish% on the front.

I have 30% front and the stock 20% privacy glass in the back.

At first the dealer made a mistake did my front windows at 20% as well. I drove that for a few days, and seriously could not see in the night on medium-to-low lit streets.

But the true nightmare came when it rained one night and I had water beads on the outside. You can't see a damn thing, and I think 20% is plain unsafe on the front windows.

I have 30% now.

Dude, all you have to do is use the wipers. It's raining...no wonder you can't see. Either that or go check your eyes. :p

i have 5% on everything, except the front doors & windshield. i still haven't gotten around to tint the front doors, but will probably do 35% since it's the wife's X5. i have 5% & 20% on my WRX
